Last year, I had to move out west so that I could help out my mom.
She was having some health problems and she needed some extra assistance.
Since my job is basically mobile, I told my sisters that I was willing to go out and stay with her. Well, I wasn’t really expecting the difference in climates that I ran into out there. I had no idea that the dust and sand from the desert was going to be such a big issue with my breathing. I have never really had that many respiratory problems, but when I moved in with my mom, the indoor air quality in her house really threw me for a loop. I had a hard time breathing, and I was coughing all the time. I ended up talking to her local HVAC company to see if they had any ideas for helping me out with my respiratory problems. The HVAC technician that I spoke with said that the first thing that he would do was get some HEPA air filters installed in my mom’s HVAC system. He said that HEPA filters are capable of filtering out over 95 percent of dust, dirt, debris, and pathogens. I liked the sound of that! Then he mentioned that we might want to add something called a UV Light Air Purifier, too. Having this UV light air purifier in my mom’s house has made all the difference in my breathing. Without the UV air purifier, I don’t think that I would have been able to keep living with my mom for the past year. The air purifier gets rid of microscopic pathogens and it really helps improve the indoor air quality in your home.
