Not pleased about the new personal day changes at my workplace

I have been an employee with the same commercial Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device upgrade company for the past 10 years.

I stayed with the company for this long because of the benefits and paid time off.

When I was hired approximately 10 years ago, I had a month of paid trips and 10 personal days. After several years, I had more than two months of paid trips. Last year I passed that 10-year mark and now I have several months of paid trips and numerous personal days. Unfortunately, the current personal day policy will make it more challenging to use my personal days. The current policy states that all personal days must be scheduled a few days in advance. We used to be able to wake up in the morning hours and take a personal day. If I was feeling overwhelmed or stressed out, I could take a personal day. If I was sick to my stomach or had a sore throat, I could take a personal day. The best part about the personal days was being able to take them whenever you needed or wanted. Now all of that is actually changing because the current director wants things to be completely different. The woman has been easily changing a lot of our rules and regulations. Now every one of us will have to request a personal day the day before and the day must be approved by management. If the director thinks we will actually be too busy, she can actually deny the request. I’m really unhappy with the brand new rules and I think it might be time to start looking for a brand new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C upgrade and maintenance task.
