A couple of months ago, I called the HVAC company and asked them to service my furnace. I knew it was a little late to worry about having a furnace serviced, but I just moved into the house. I wanted to make sure the furnace was in good condition so I didn’t have to worry about losing heat in the middle of winter. For some reason I couldn’t get it through the receptionist’s head that all I wanted was to have my furnace serviced. She kept asking me if there was a problem with the furnace, or if I was losing heat? I told her I was not having a problem, and I didn’t have a loss of heat, nor did I have any noises, but I had just moved into the house. I was concerned over the condition of the furnace since I was unable to have it inspected prior to the sale going through. She still continued to ask me questions about the condition of the furnace, when I stopped her. Once again, I reiterated that there was nothing wrong with the furnace as far as I could see. I wanted to have an HVAC technician come to my house and do an inspection on the furnace since I had just bought the house. When she started asking me questions again, I asked one of the HVAC technicians. I got a disgruntled man on the phone who asked me what was the problem with the furnace? I explained to him the same as I had explained to the receptionist, that I just bought the house and needed my furnace serviced. He was quick to set up an appointment for the next morning, and apologized for the receptionist’s misunderstanding..
