The way the furnace was running now, the temperature was going to be close to 100 in the house by the time the HVAC technician arrived in the morning.
Last night was the coldest nighttime temperature we have had in the last five years, and yet it was so hot in our house that I couldn’t sleep. Our furnace was working really well in keeping our house warm, but somewhere in the middle of the night it decided that it was going to work even harder. The furnace had been running nonstop for several hours when I got out of bed. There was sweat rolling down my face, and I could no longer keep a cover on top of me. My husband was already in the basement looking at the furnace trying to figure out why it was running nonstop. The temperature on the thermostat read 82°. When he heard me rummaging in the kitchen, he hollered up and told me to call the HVAC company. When I got in touch with someone at the HVAC company, she asked me if it was an emergency. I hollered down to my husband and asked if having an HVAC technician was an emergency or if we could wait until morning. He told me that it would be okay to wait till morning for the HVAC technician, but he didn’t want to go much longer. The way the furnace was running now, the temperature was going to be close to 100 in the house by the time the HVAC technician arrived in the morning. The person who answered the phone, set up an appointment for us for 7 AM that morning. She set us up with an HVAC technician who would come to our house as soon as he got in to work in the morning. Both my husband and I were grateful that she was able to set up an appointment so quickly and so early.
